Kevin has been in the lending business for thirty years and has a wide range of commercial banking experience, from general commercial & industrial lending and business lines of credit, to commercial real estate and commercial purchase money mortgages—and, most recently, cannabis business lending. When not out in the field meeting his clients, you can find Kevin at our Tampa Banking Center.
As a formerly licensed Florida Realtor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of South Florida, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his lending customers.
Kevin is a Florida native through and through, lives only six miles from the home he grew up in, and is exceptionally active within the Tampa business and charitable communities. Not only has he lived in Tampa his entire life, his wife works also in Tampa as a paralegal, and he has two adult daughters—a nurse in Tampa and a commercial insurance agent in Ft. Lauderdale. He serves on the board for Rotary Club of Tampa and Tampa Meals on Wheels and is a former board member of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Kevin and his wife are also active within Metropolitan Ministries and the Salvation Army.
What does Kevin love most about what he does? He believes small businesses—and the institutions like Cogent who support them—are “the fuel that drives the country’s economy.” He loves driving down the road and seeing a successful company he’s worked with and knowing that their employees will be able to feed their families that night because of a banking relationship he has with the owner. He has the following words of wisdom for business owners looking to finance their next purchase or venture:
“In order to consider a loan, bankers look at three things, cash flow, credit, and collateral. You will need to have enough cash flow from your business to more than cover the monthly payment that would result from approving this loan. You need to make sure your previous accounts have all been paid timely and as agreed. And most loans will need to be secured. We will need to have collateral to ensure the bank can be repaid should the loan default.”
