Treasury Sales Officer/ Deposit Relationship Manager – Pinellas/Manatee County

 Job Summary

The Deposit Relationship Manager/Treasury Sales Officer is responsible for generating new treasury and depository business; developing and managing treasury banking relationships; and ensuring exceptional client service while maximizing the profitability of client relationships and minimizing risk. This position directly supports business generation through the development of proposals, presentations, pro forma, requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs).

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Markets the bank’s treasury, cash management and other deposit products and services
  • Through an organized and consultative approach, assists the Relationship Management team in establishing new depository and treasury relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Identify new prospects by engaging in business development activities centered on new client acquisition growth.
  • Serves as primary contact for all treasury service relationships established. Provides an elevated level of personalized sales and service to support key client relationships.
  • Builds internal and external relationships through exceptional problem solving, ownership and follow through.
  • Meets with centers of influence, business brokers, CPAs, attorneys, real estate agents, business owners, senior executives, and others to evaluate and analyze their financial and business needs, and to provide expert advice to prospective clients.
  • Scrutinizes customer and potential customer information provided for evidence of irregularities, discrepancies, and fraud.
  • Recognizes and facilitates cross-selling opportunities for lending and other banking products to leverage and create strong client relationships
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the bank’s products and services, and trends in commercial banking pricing and products.
  • Keeps abreast of local and national economic, financial, political, and legislative events and climates which could have an impact on commercial banking activities.
  • Maintains professional and community relations to increase the bank’s visibility and new business opportunities, and to further personal development.
  • Ensures BSA compliance by reading and being familiar with the BSA/AML program/policy; following all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures; and completing all BSA/AML/OFAC related online courses.
  • All other tasks, responsibilities, or duties, as directed by management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Three (3) years of banking and business development
  • Exceptional knowledge of treasury management
  • Exhibits effective sales and customer service practices and has a firm grasp on relevant legal issues and other necessary information.
  • Maintains confidentiality of customer and employee information.
  • Initiative-taker and able to work independently.
  • Displays a powerful sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to complete tasks correctly, with emphasis on working with and through people in the process.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions, can recognize potential problems, and take corrective action.
  • Flexible to adapt to changing business priorities
  • Good people skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
